The CPD you have to do, done efficiently

Mandatory topics have a way of getting left until the final months of a cycle, and then being done as cheaply and quickly as possible. That is understandable — nobody chose dentistry for the record-keeping modules — but it is also a missed opportunity, because this is the learning that protects your registration when something goes wrong. The guides below collect the free certificated options for each mandatory area so the compliance load costs you time, not money.

One honest caveat that applies across this whole category: online theory supports but does not replace hands-on requirements. Your BLS certification still needs a practical component, and your regulator's rules on what counts are the final word — which is why every state and country guide on this site now links its regulator directly.

Sequencing the mandatory load

A pattern that works well: put one mandatory topic in each quarter of your CPD year instead of a panicked block in the last month, and pair each online module with a note in your PDP about what changed in your practice as a result — auditors respond well to that, and it is the part that actually improves patient safety. Certificate availability varies by provider and changes without notice, so verify before you rely on any single course for a named requirement.
