CBCT is the imaging modality where a free webinar can genuinely change your risk profile. The two competencies that matter are justification — knowing when a small-field scan is defensible and when plain film answers the question at lower dose — and systematic reading of the whole volume. Every CBCT you order makes you responsible for everything in the field of view, including the incidental sinus pathology and airway findings you weren’t looking for.
For general practitioners, I’d prioritise courses built around implant planning and endodontic diagnosis, since those are the scans most commonly ordered in practice, and pick at least one session on radiographic anatomy of the maxillofacial region viewed in three planes. If you refer scans out rather than owning a machine, the justification and report-interpretation content still applies to you — arguably more so.
